The chamber is an economic organization enjoying an independent abstract character as well as financial and managerial.
It is a non-governmental society which represents the aspirations of both the Iraqi and American private sector, in addition in being a non-profit one aiming at creation of opportunities for Iraqi businessmen and investors to get closer to their American counterparts in the United States and other developed world countries.
The chamber was established on May 9th / 2003, loss Angeles- California, by a group of Iraqi expatriate businessmen and industrialists in U.S.A, its main office is situated in California and a branch office in Washington D.C. the chamber acquired the necessary formal approvals for its founding from the American federal government, American ministry of trade and the American chamber of commerce as well.
After its Iraq branch foundation in 15/8/2003, the chamber worked hard to expand its activities through cooperation and harmonizing efforts along with the Iraqi ministries of trade & industry, also to tighten relations with the Iraqi industrialists union, Iraqi chambers of commerce federation, Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, Iraqi businessmen federation, Iraqi Engineers Union, Iraqi contractors Federation, Iraqi Physicians union, Iraqi Bar association,. The chamber also tries its best to extend relations with all parties concerned with private economic activity in Iraq, as well as governmental quarters.
